American Field is an annual pop-up market, now held in four cities nationwide, that features the best American Made products and vendors.

Project

For its Boston event in 2014, American Field enlisted the help of Maimed & Tamed to curate and book a lineup of live music that reflected the event’s mission of promoting their American Made mantra. In Brooklyn in 2014 and in Boston in 2015, M&T was tasked with curating music to be played throughout the event site over the course of the weekend.

Solution

The live music lineup for the 2014 event in Boston featured 10 local artists across two days with a focus on the Americana, bluegrass, and folk genres. Artists included Hillary Reynolds Band, As the Sparrow, The Novel Ideas, and more. M&T also coordinated independent audio crews and on-site logistics to provide maximum visibility and effectiveness of the event’s live music aspect in order to drive traffic and sales to the participating vendors. The event drew over 3,500 attendees across two days which resulted in over $150,000 in sales between 83 vendors and 8 food trucks as well as over 1.5 million impressions across print, digital, social, outdoor, and blogs.

For the Brooklyn event, M&T created a playlist with 14+ hours of music that was played throughout the weekend. The playlist featured popular and local artists alike such as Shakey Graves, Wilco, Kingsley Flood, Caroline Rose, Tall Tall Trees, The Low Anthem, and many, many more. The playlist for the 2015 event in Boston features artists like Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Houndmouth, Ryan Adams, and Wilco, among others.
